4 Habits & Rituals I Do Daily

Changing your habits can change your life. Whether big or small make the most of your daily life experience to feel good inside and out.

1. Cleanse your skin at night. I mean REALLY cleanse your skin! know this may seem like a simple no brainer to some of you but to the others I know you are not doing this! If you have any congestion in your skin, prone to acne, have roughness on the skin, or annoyed by blackheads this step is so so so crucial. You really want to get the daily grime and environmental gunk off your face before you sleep.

WHY? We heat up when we sleep and this is prime time for correcting the skin. I always say daytime is to protect and night time is to correct. Be sure to cleanse and use those yummy corrective serums and moisturizers at night. Let your skin marinate in these ingredients so you wake up glowing and refreshed inside and out.

2. “Gratitude is the opposite of depression and anxiety.” I keep a journal by my bed and each night I write down 3 things that happened that day that I was grateful for. This has been really fun and eye opening! So many times before this habit I would wake up, go to work, go through my daily routine and back to bed to do it all over again not really noticing or acknowledging the day. After being on autopilot I wouldn’t even know what day it was anymore. I’m sure some of you can relate. This one habit alone has really helped me be accountable for my life and helped bring in more wonderful experiences.

3. Drink a glass of warm or room temp water right when you wake up. You’ve basically been fasting all night and need to hydrate. Adding lemon is a bonus! I cut up lemon slices each week and keep in a plastic baggy so they are ready to go. What are the benefits?

  • Cleanse digestion

  • Forces toxins out of the body

  • Improves blood circulation

  • Boosts metabolism

  • Alkaline the body which is great for skin!

4. Dry brushing the body is an Ayurvedic practice that helps improve your circulation and slough off dead skin cells. Brushing towards your heart is essential, and you’ll want to start at your lower extremities and work your way up, covering all of your parts before hopping in the shower. Dry brushing will help leave your skin feeling smoother, and you’ll notice the difference after you’ve dried off. Apply a moisturizer afterward to retain that suppleness.
